GOTV Micro-Team (3–8 people)

Use when: elections matter and you want leverage without burning out.
Goal: small team, simple rhythm, consistent turnout.

Roles (lightweight)

  • Captain: keeps the rhythm, runs the 15-min weekly check-in
  • List keeper: tracks who needs what (rides, reminders, questions)
  • Driver: rides / logistics
  • Texter: sends reminders and scripts
  • Backup: covers when life happens

Weekly rhythm (15 minutes)

  1. What election/date are we targeting?
  2. Who are our 25–50 voters (friends/family/neighbors)?
  3. Who needs a plan this week?
  4. Who needs help removing friction?
  5. Assign 3–5 touches. Done.

Cadence that actually works

  • 30 days out: every voter has a plan, method, and basic friction check
  • 7 days out: confirm method, hours, location, and backup plan
  • 1 day out: reminder, ride plan, and last-mile troubleshooting

Minimum viable list hygiene

  • keep the list to 25-50 real people
  • use names, not demographics
  • track last touch, method, friction, and who owns the next follow-up

Use the weekly checklist or your own simple tracker.

The rule

Small and consistent beats big and frantic.

What success looks like

A bunch of people vote who otherwise might not have. No one feels lectured.

Definition of done

Leave with:

  1. a named list
  2. assigned touches
  3. a next check-in date
